Who needs a Family Residence Visa?

This visa is required for dependents of foreign workers who already hold an Iqama (Saudi residency permit). Eligible applicants include:

Step-by-Step Process for Obtaining a Saudi Arabia Family Residence Visa 

  1. Obtain Iqama (Residency Permit)
  • The resident worker in Saudi Arabia must first secure their Iqama, it must be valid before applying for a Family Residence Visa.
  1. Schedule Appointment with MOFA
  • The worker could ask his employer support to schedule an appointment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to apply for a Family Residence Visa. 
  • This process results in a document known as the Yellow Slip.
  1. Determine the Appropriate Saudi Consulate
  • The visa application must be submitted to the correct Saudi consulate, depending on the applicant’s nationality and country of residence.
  1. Gather Required Documents

The required documents may vary based on nationality and country of residence. Generally, applicants must submit:

  • Valid Passport (minimun 6 months validity)
  • Application document issued by the MFA (yellow slip)
  • Copy of the Iqama of the family member residing in Saudi Arabia
  1. Submit the Application to the Saudi Consulate

Depending on the consulate, the application may need to be submitted in person (by appointment) or via courier/mail.

  1. Receive Your Family Residence Visa

Upon approval, a Family Residence Visa is issued, allowing dependents to enter Saudi Arabia.
